20/06/2012 EU multiannual financial framework (MFF) negotiations In July 2011, the EU institutions entered a new cycle of financial framework (MFF) negotiations. The next MFF will define the budgetary priorities of the EU for the years 2014-2020. The negotiations are expected to be concluded by the early 2013. This would allow the new MFF to enter into force in 2014, following adoption of the relevant legislation.
15/03/2013 The European Semester The "European Semester" is a cycle of economic and fiscal policy coordination within the EU. Its focus is on the six-month period from the beginning of each year, hence its name – the "semester". During the European Semester the member states align their budgetary and economic policies with the objectives and rules agreed at the EU level.
