SINA Box S
The SINA Box S is, in its role as an IPSec-gateway, a central infrastructural element for virtual private networks. On the one hand, the unit provides secure VPN-tunnel-based connections for sensitive or classified networks of governmental institutions and companies via (unsecure) public networks, e.g. the internet. On the other hand, the SINA boxes, positioned in front of server groups, terminate the VPN-tunnels initiated by the corresponding SINA clients. For high-availability environments, SINA boxes can be installed in Hot-Standby-configurations. Depending on the use case and the required permission-level, the SINA boxes can be tailored to the customers' demands. The SINA Box S was specially developed for VPNs with higher, yet still software based encryption and also provides tamper-detection.
