Terrorism poses a significant threat to the security of Europe, to the values of our democratic societies and to the right and freedoms of European citiziens. Acts of terrorism are criminal and unjustifiable under any circumstances.

The EU ready to help US on closing Guantanamo, 15 June 2009
European Union is ready to support the United States in the process of closing Guantanamo detention centre and has finalized the creation of an enabling environment, a collective framework, that will help those Member States who wish to do so to receive ex-detainees.
