CASE

arrow_double_blue CASE, the Central Archives Search Engine, provides access to descriptions of the archives of the Council of the European Union.

A search in CASE is carried out using the metadata (titles, Council document number, COM/SEC number, search in a sub-collection, year, and description of the content of files).

These descriptions are available only in French. It is therefore necessary to consult the database in French in order to obtain valid results.

arrow-single-blue ECSC (CM1) from 1952 to 1964
arrow-single-blue EEC Euratom (CM2) from 1958 to 1974
arrow-single-blue Negotiation of the Treaties of Rome (CM3 NEGO 1) from 1955 to 1957

Note that the official languages are as follows

arrow-single-blue From 1952 to 1972: French, German, Italian and Dutch;
arrow-single-blue From 1973 to 1980: French, German, Italian, Dutch, English and Danish.

The CASE search does not yet display the digitised files in the search results; in order to consult digitised files related to a CASE search, a temporary solution is available:  PartnerPortal (see "Preparing a search").
