Recruitment
The General Secretariat of the Council of the European Union recruits on the basis of lists of suitable candidates drawn up as a result of open competitions organised for the various categories of staff. Since the start of 2003, competitions have been organised and managed at an interinstitutional level by the European Personnel Selection Office (EPSO). The General Secretariat may, exceptionally, organise competitions for its own requirements, in order to fill highly specialised posts, or publish recruitment notices to recruit within specific areas.
